"Free Love"

Barry's observations here of the power of grace in our lives are theologically excellent and also personally transforming. Living our lives in the fullest appreciation of the love, hope and forgiveness we find in Jesus is the only way to go, and Barry's great insights will undoubtedly help us all better understand and appreciate that grace.

Professor Andrew Davies, BD(Hons), MA, PhD. School of Philosophy, Theology & Religion, University of Birmingham U.K.

"Free Love But It Isn’t Cheap"

"Free Love But It Isn’t Cheap” is the author’s heart cry. A challenge to the condemnation of legalistic religion.  To risk being misunderstood by living as Jesus intended us to, through His liberating message of extravagant love.

The quest for free love in the sixties ended in misery for many. The hippies' sincerity got lost as they searched for love in all the wrong places.  Out of chaos came the Jesus revolution, and it liberated many. Sadly, legalism crept back into Christian lives and more misery settled under the guise of keeping the rules to be a "good Christian". This book is a challenge to the destructive condemnation of legalistic religion. A call to live in the outrageously free love offered by God. Unless we live and share this liberating message of grace to the point where we are misunderstood, then we are not truly living as Jesus intended.

"Samson's Hair is Growing Again"

Barry's story highlights the negative things that shaped his young life. His rebellious lifestyle as a teenager, his rock band, drug fuelled days in Dublin. From craziness and crisis to conversion. Adventure after adventure in foreign lands. Finding success in church ministry followed by a nose-dive into defeat and despair. Ultimately discovering that God never gives up on you. Just as God did with Samson, Barry discovered that God will grow your hair again, making good what the enemy intended for destruction.

"Absolutely excellent - I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It drew me in from the start, with Barry’s to-the-point message about all that God has done for, and through, Barry and Linda. This book is refreshingly biblically spirit-filled and yet ‘real’. Encouraging and reflects the grace, love and freedom learned throughout the years. One to keep re-reading as it contains deep spiritual truths you cannot simply digest in one sitting. Thank you for taking the time to write this, Barry".

"Just finished this book. It's a brilliant account of Barry's journey to faith, ministry and what came afterwards. As a former member of Kings Centre where Barry pastored, I can relate so much to what he shares here. Ultimately, however, this is a story of restoration in the glorious power of grace that is only found in Jesus Christ. It is uplifting, life affirming, encouraging, faith building and honest. Thanks Barry for opening your heart to all of us".

"This is an excellent book. I also could not put the book down and read the book all the way through. It is a great read and really draws you in. I have known Barry and Linda for about the last twenty years or so, while he has been involved in his church work. I only had hints of his early life. Barry is so transparent about what he went through in his wild days of drugs, sex and alcohol. As he told his story in all its rawness, he talks about the spiritual principles he now sees in these events. You sometimes think that when you become a Christian life gets a little easier. Barry talks about his trials and disappointments in his church work. This book has a great title. Samson's hair does grow again, and the Lord does not leave us. He is constantly restoring us, loving us, and directing us towards the next task He has for us to accomplish. Thank you Barry for sharing your testimony in this book. It is inspirational".

"A truly inspirational read. This book was delivered on Friday and I found that I could not put it down and had read it within 24 hours. I have known Barry for the last 29 years and have always found his teaching powerful but expressed in a humble way. It was good to read more background to the experiences that formed the mighty man of God that he is. His testimony can and will be the means for many other Samson's hair growing again. I have needed this book for several years. I cannot recommend this book more highly".
